International Students

The MPS Directing Program attracts aspiring filmmakers from all over the world. We have had students from China, Thailand, Turkey, Brazil, and Panama to name a few. Each year our thesis festival showcases films in languages from around the world. At SVA NYC, it is more important to us that our students be fluent in art than fluent in English.

The diversity of the MPS Directing program reflects the larger and ever more connected film community across the globe. This diversity enhances our film program, our students’ experience, and ultimately the films we produce. We welcome international applicants and encourage you to call or email us to learn more about our film program and what you will need as an international applicant.

For more information on how to apply to the MPS Directing program, please visit the International Students Office Graduate webpage.

For more information on student visas and related services please visit our International Student Office.

SVA offers significant visa support.  Due to the time involved in fulfilling legal requirements, it is recommended that international applicants submit all application materials at least four months prior to the start of the semester.
