Joshua James


JOSHUA JAMES is a screenwriter, author and playwright based in New York City. 

He’s written the feature film Pound Of Flesh, starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, directed by Ernie Barbarash, and responsible for uncredited production polishes on LLeju’s Cat Run, directed by John Stockwell, Block Island by Adler Grey productions, among others. He adapted Aden for director Gary Lee, based on the short film of the same name, wrote Best of the Best: Champions for director Phillip Rhee and The Tower for Jean-Claude Van Damme, based on an original story by JCVD. Joshua also adapted Peter Biskind’s bestselling book Down & Dirty Pictures into a feature screenplay and Matthew Polly’s New York Times bestseller American Shaolin into a television pilot. Projects in development include The Jones Party with Scoop Wasserstein productions, Austin Chick directing, Split Point for Phillip Rhee / John Baca, Vesa Manninen directing, Trespasses for Ronny Clemer, Vic Armstrong directing, and the television pilot Shanks. His novels COMBAT READY and FELL FROM THE STARS will be published in 2018. As a playwright Joshua made his London debut when The Men’s Room was produced at the Croydon Warehouse Theatre. He made his Off-Broadway debut in The Fear Project and his one act Afraid Of The Dark was presented Off-Broadway at New World Stages.
